Bourbon Smoked Pepper - Peppercorns from Bourbon Barrel Foods
Barrel Foods, a family-owned company from Louisville, Kentucky, has been producing high-quality gourmet products since 2006. The company's success under founder and owner Matt Jamie is based primarily on an innovative manufacturing process, selected ingredients and a lot of dedication to work. In order to maintain the highest quality, each product is painstakingly made by hand and only in small batches.
To make this spice mixture, black Malabar pepper is smoked very slowly and intensively over old wooden barrels that once held the finest Kentucky bourbon. This gives it its typical smoky aroma and intense smoky taste. It is also slightly spicy with a hint of pine and citrus. Tastes perfect with steaks, burgers or fresh vegetables.
