At American Heritage there are new the best chocolate chips in the range. For this happy occasion, I am publishing the Ryan family's recipe for chocolate chip cookies on the blog. I was given it on my first trip to the USA many years ago - at that time, the American cookies with chocolate chips were still relatively unknown here.
Put all dry ingredients for the American Chocolate Chip Cookies in a mixing bowl and mix:
- 280 g flour (wheat or spelt flour)
- 150 g sugar
- 150 g brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
Then add the wet ingredients and mix to form a coarse cookie dough.
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon water
- 220 g butter
- 1 egg
- 250 g Chocolate Chips by Guittard (Super Cookie, Semisweet or Choc-Au-Lait)
Using small spoons, portion the dough onto baking paper, leaving enough space between each one. Bake in a preheated oven for 12 minutes at 190°C. After baking, allow to cool briefly so that the cookies become firmer. Then serve optionally with vanilla ice cream and a glass of milk or a cup of hot chocolate. Enjoy!
