A firefighter in beautiful California never gets bored: house and forest fires, extreme temperatures, floods and earthquakes are ravaging the country. Just last week there was another major earthquake in Napa. After that, around 60 houses were marked as being in danger of collapsing and were no longer allowed to be entered. After a smaller aftershock, one of them actually collapsed yesterday and the Napa fire department was called out again to rescue the occupant of the house who was staying in the house in violation of the regulations.
Fire engines are such eye-catchers in America, but I have never seen one like the one in Napa: a fire engine with an elegant Stars & Stripes look!
After the successful operation, the nice fireman Jeff explained the most important cars to me. The Stars & Stripes car is the T!, Truck 1, which is equipped with a ladder and is also used for rescues and has a whole pumping system. In front of it is E1, Engine 1, with lots of water on board and all the hoses. For American Heritage, he also parked the cars in a photogenic way, opened the interior to me and explained his earthquake app. In an emergency, the local fire department is also deployed in neighboring states - there is always a lot to do.
Many thanks at this point to all the firefighters who work tirelessly, even if they don't have such a fancy fire engine!
