Rob Turner, a former banker and founder of Crown Maple, bought the area in 2007 for himself and his wife as a vacation spot. He learned from his new neighbors that there were around 20,000 maple trees on his newly acquired property and decided to get into maple syrup production straight away. The first batch was produced in 2011, and today, just a few years later, Crown Maple maple syrup is considered to be the highest quality in the world.
