At American Heritage there is new the best chocolate chips in the range. To mark this happy occasion, I'm sharing the Ryan family's recipe for chocolate chip cookies on the blog. I received it on my first trip to the USA many years ago - back then, these American cookies with chocolate chips were still relatively unknown here.
Place all dry ingredients for the American Chocolate Chip Cookies into a mixing bowl and mix:
- 280 g flour (wheat or spelt flour)
- 150 g sugar
- 150g brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
Then add the wet ingredients and mix to form a coarse cookie dough.
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 tsp water
- 220 g butter
- 1 egg
- 250g Chocolate Chips by Guittard (Super Cookie, Semisweet or Choc-Au-Lait)
Drop the dough onto baking paper with small spoons, leaving plenty of space between each one. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C for 12 minutes. After baking, let the cookies cool briefly to firm up. Serve with vanilla ice cream and a glass of milk or a cup of hot chocolate. Enjoy!
